Terms and conditions for the reservation and purchase of tickets

Tokyo International Players (TIP) does its best to ensure that all the information on its website is current and accurate. However, mistakes can occur, so we would encourage anyone who may be thinking of making a special trip based on information displayed on the website to confirm that the information is correct by contacting TIP through the Contact Form or by telephone.

Through the TIP website it is possible to
1. Make an advance reservation of tickets for a show with payment to be made “Cash at Door” when the tickets are collected at the show’s Ticket Collection Desk located in the theatre for that production.
2. Make an advance reservation of tickets for a show with payment to be made using bank transfer before the performance date.
3. Purchase tickets using Paypal for a show.
4. TIP Flexipack and Season pack holders may reserve tickets for a show to use the tickets in their pack.

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before purchasing any tickets or making an advance reservation as by doing so, you accept that these terms and conditions will apply.

1. ADVANCE RESERVATION (CASH AT DOOR)

1.1. If you make a group booking, you accept these terms and conditions on behalf of all members of the group and are responsible for all payments due from the party (also see Groups in section 5 below).
1.2 Requests for advance reservations can be made through the TIP website using the Online Booking Form.
1.3 You are entirely responsible for entering your details correctly on the Online Booking Form
1.4 Once you submit the Online Booking Form, the TIP Box Office will check that you have completed all parts of the Online Booking Form and whether there are tickets available for your chosen performance. Ticket reservations are made on a first come first served basis. Upon confirmation of these details,
a) If there are tickets available for your chosen performance, TIP will send you a Confirmation email. This Confirmation shall constitute TIP’s acceptance of your reservation. You are responsible for checking that the booking details in the Confirmation email to you are accurate.
b) In the event that there are no remaining tickets available, you will be sent an email and offered the choice to change your reservation to a different performance or cancel your reservation request. If we do not receive a response within 48 hours, your reservation request will be considered cancelled.
1.5 If there are any changes to your details once your booking has been concluded then it is your responsibility to inform TIP.

2. ADVANCE BOOKING WITH PAYMENT (BANK TRANSFER)

2.1. If you make a group booking, you accept these terms and conditions on behalf of all members of the group and are responsible for all payments due from the party (also see Groups in section 5 below).
2.2 Requests for advance reservations can be made through the TIP website using the Online Booking Form.
2.3 You are entirely responsible for entering your details correctly on the Online Booking Form
2.4 Once you submit the Online Booking Form, the TIP Box Office will check that you have completed all parts of the Online Booking Form and whether there are tickets available for your chosen performance. Ticket reservations are made on a first come first served basis. Upon confirmation of these details:
a) If there are tickets available for your chosen performance, TIP will send you a Confirmation email. This Confirmation shall constitute TIP’s acceptance of your reservation. You are responsible for checking that the booking details in the Confirmation email to you are accurate. The Confirmation email will include the bank account details such that the bank transfer can be made. Please make the bank transfer and send the Box Office an email to confirm when it is complete. When the bank transfer has been confirmed as received, Box Office will confirm accordingly.
b) In the event that there are no remaining tickets available, you will be sent an email and offered the choice to change your reservation to a different performance (subject to availability at the time new request is received) or cancel your reservation request. If we do not receive a response within 48 hours, your reservation request will be considered cancelled.
2.5 If there are any changes to your details once your booking has been concluded then it is your responsibility to inform TIP.
2.6 No tickets will be delivered to, please check section 4 “COLLECTING TICKETS” below.

3. ADVANCE BOOKING WITH PAYMENT (PAYPAL)

3.1. If you make a group booking, you accept these terms and conditions on behalf of all members of the group and are responsible for all payments due from the party (also see Groups in section 5 below).
3.2 Requests to buy tickets can be made through the TIP website by using the Paypal booking form.
3.3 You are entirely responsible for entering your details correctly into the Paypal booking form.
3.4 Once you submit the form, the TIP Box Office will receive confirmation of your booking. Tickets are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
3.5 Your Paypal receipt will be your confirmation of the booking and you will not receive a further confirmation from TIP. In the event that you do not receive a receipt from Paypal, please contact TIP through the contact form to confirm if your booking was received.
3.6 If there are any changes to your details once your booking has been concluded then it is your responsibility to inform TIP.

4. COLLECTING TICKETS

4.1 Tickets can be collected at the Ticket Collection Desk. For tickets where payment was not made in advance (e.g. Paypal, Bank transfer or TIP Package holders), payment is required before the tickets can be collected. Payment can be made at the Ticket Collection Desk but only in Cash.
4.2 The Ticket Collection Desk in the lobby of the theatre for show that you are attending. The Ticket Collection Desk will be open up to 60 minutes before each performance start time.
4.3 TIP reserves the right to release any advance reservations for unpaid tickets from 20 minutes before the publicised start time of the performance for which the tickets were reserved. Such tickets may then be sold to anyone on the waiting list at the theatre on a first-come, first-served basis.

5. GROUPS

5.1 Requests for Group reservations (parties of 10 or more) may be made through the TIP website or by telephone as outlined in section 1.1 above. However, the reservation should not be considered confirmed until you have been contacted by TIP Box Office.
5.2 A deposit and balance payment system is put in place whenever a group booking is made. The deposit amount is requested to secure the booking at the time of reservation. This amount is calculated at JPY500 per head booked. Deposit payment dates will be discussed between you and the TIP Box Office. The balance payment must be made no later than 1 week from the performance date. Payment can be made using Paypal or bank transfer.
5.3 There is no maximum number of people to a group, only the minimum number of 10 people. If payment is not received and TIP has received no communication from the group organizer at one week from the performance date, the booking will be cancelled.

6. GENERAL

6.1 TIP reserves the right to place restrictions on the volume of any Tickets reserved/ordered; and in addition, TIP shall be entitled to terminate Reservations and Ticket sales for a performance at such time as it shall think fit.
6.2 TIP shall be entitled to make changes as to performers, running times and such other matters as it thinks fit in the case of any event.
6.3. TIP reserves the right to ask for proof of eligibility for concessions at the access points for the performance.
6.4 TIP reserves the right to refuse admission and may request any Ticket holders to leave (taking any such appropriate action which may be necessary to enforce this right) before or during performances if it considers it to be necessary or desirable to do so.
6.5. Latecomers will be asked to wait until a suitable break in the performance before being admitted to the auditorium or other venue.
6.6 Food and drink may not be consumed in the auditorium.
6.7 Mobile phones and other electronic equipment must be switched off (not silenced) before entering the auditorium. The taking of photographs, capturing of images or the use of any recording devices including mobile phones during any performance is strictly prohibited.
6.8 Subject to clause 6.9 below, to be admitted to the auditorium you must be in possession of a valid Ticket.
6.9. Children of all ages must pay the Child price for each seat although children aged under 18 months and under may be admitted without a ticket and free of charge. In instances where children are admitted free of charge, they will not be allocated a seat and must be seated on a parent or guardian’s lap for the duration of the performance. In all circumstances children must be supervised by an adult. TIP cannot accept any responsibility for unaccompanied children.
6.10 Please note that strobe lighting, smoke effects and gunshots are sometimes used in productions.
6.11 TIP and any authorised third parties may carry out general filming and sound recording in or about the venue. By attending TIP productions or events, you consent to you and your party being included in and to the commercial exploitation of such films and recordings without payment.
6.12 Seating for all shows is open (unreserved) except for Season Ticket holders and Patrons who are entitled to priority (reserved) seating. Generally the auditorium will open from 30 minutes before the show start time. Groups of 6 or more may be allocated priority (reserved) seating at the discretion of the Front of House Manager.

7. REFUND AND EXCHANGE POLICY FOR TICKETS

7.1. Where TIP is unable to perform on the date(s) agreed because the performance in question is no longer available or viable, or is abandoned when less than half the performance has taken place, TIP will refund to you the face value of the Tickets purchased (excluding any Paypal charges).
7.2. Where a performance has been cancelled or abandoned when more than half of the performance has taken place the TIP may, in its discretion, refund to you the face value of the Tickets purchased (excluding any Paypal charges).
7.3. Tickets purchased by Paypal or Bank transfer may be exchanged for later performances (subject to availability) provided that the TIP receives your request at least 24 hours before the performance is due to take place (or at least 7 days before the performance is due to take place for group bookings).
