About Us

Tokyo International Players, also known as "TIP", is an English language theatre troupe based in Tokyo, Japan.

TIP productions range from classics to musicals to contemporary and original pieces. We are an all volunteer organization and the oldest, largest English language theatre company in Japan.

TIP Main Stage

Each year, TIP presents anywhere from three to five Main Stage productions. The flagship of our organization, Main Stage brings together the finest talent--actors, directors, producers, and designers--in order to present some of the most innovative theatre found not only in Tokyo, but throughout the world. Our wide range of material includes classic drama, comedy, one acts, and many styles of musicals.

TIP Second Stage

TIP launched Second Stage in 2009 with the goal of providing an opportunity for artists to present new and innovative shows in intimate, creative settings, and to offer Tokyo audiences exciting new theatrical experiences different from those in the Main Stage lineup. Presented in "black box" style, Second Stage is intimate with its smaller casts, creative venues, and playing to a limited number of patrons. It is a great place to get your feet wet in the world of theatre, or to try out a new endeavor, such as acting or directing.
