Tokyo International Players is pleased to announce auditions for LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS by Sam Steiner and directed by Kate Cwynar, on stage February 2026!

Sam Steiner’s hilarious and provocative play imagines a world where we're forced to say less. It's about what we say and how we say it; about the things we can only hear in the silence; about dead cats, activism, eye contact and lemons, lemons, lemons, lemons, lemons.
WHAT TO PREPARE
A short (2-3 minute), memorized contemporary monologue or story, either dramatic or comedic. As the show centers around communicating in unconventional ways, the best pieces for this audition will demonstrate your ability to develop a character and tell a story through body language, expression, and other means that go beyond the words as written. You may also be asked to share some thoughts that went into your character and/or performance choices, so pick something that speaks to you!
Contact the casting director at the email address below if you have questions about the suitability of your monologue/story. Upon signing up, you will also be asked to complete a liability waiver, Covid-19 safety agreement, and general questionnaire so you can tell us about your theater/performance background and rehearsal availability.
