Auditions for SEUSSICAL™

Updated: Jan 15

TIP is pleased to announce auditions for our season finale, SEUSSICAL with book by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, co-conceived by Eric Idle, and directed by Karen Pauley.

We invite you to enter the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss, a vibrant and imaginative journey that brings together some of his most beloved characters and stories in surprising and delightful ways. This isn't just a retelling of one story or a collection of tales—it’s an entirely new adventure that intertwines elements from over 15 of Dr. Seuss's classic books.

The show has a large singing and dancing ensemble with character roles for actors age 10 and up and actors in principal roles age 18 and up.

WHAT TO PREPARE

ADULTS

A short (1-2 minute) comedic monologue by a classical or contemporary playwright –AND– 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song that shows off your acting skills.

16 AND UNDER

A short 1-minute monologue of your choice –AND– a verse and chorus of any song.

The monologue and song should both be memorized; the song may be performed a cappella or with pre-recorded accompaniment. Choose something that shows off your personality; have fun with it! Contact the casting director if you need help choosing appropriate pieces. You will also be sent a liability waiver and general questionnaire so you can tell us about your theater/performance background and rehearsal availability.
